Fly fishing is great all year long. Stripping Streamers at night for them BIG Browns and hungry Rainbows. The possibilities are endless as you may just hook into some of the lesser talked about fish in the Lake such as GAR-Walleye-White Bass-Suckers. We offer wading trips and boat trips.

Smithville Lake
We are pleased to offer a relaxing trip for two on beautiful Smithville Lake. This lake is a 7,190-acre reservoir on the Little Platte branch of the Platte River in Clay County, Missouri near Smithville. You will be casting from a 2021 LOWE Stinger 175C equipped with a 75 horse Mercury outboard and bow mount trolling motor and dual fish finders. Our captain is USCG certified, and we are fully insured for your peace of mind. We offer both Fly Fishing and Spinning Gear trips as well as trolling using Bottom Bouncers and our custom Crawler Harnesses. Crappie are the jewel of this Lake and are plentiful.

frog gigging
Season starts June 30 at sunset and ends October 31 st . You can’t help but hear the “jug-a-rum, jug-a-rum” from up to a half a mile away. They are most active at night and provide an excellent hunt as well as a sweet table fare. We will be targeting the American Bullfrog which can really get out there and jump. Froggin is a great way to spend a summer night. Frogs are found in most bodies of water. Limit is 8 per person per day with a possession limit of 16 per person. The typical outing can consist of multiple locations in Kansas and Missouri, all within 1 hour of Kansas City.
• We provide the Gigs and lights
• What you will need is a pair of knee boots or waders, even old pants and shoes if you don’t mind getting dirty and wet.
• A fishing license or small game license will be required as well.
• Lastly bring a cooler and ice for your catch.
Trip is for 1- 2 people and will start at dark and may run until Midnight. If we can’t get you your limit, we will stay longer than that. We have been done before in as little as a half hour and have had to stay past Midnight for larger groups. Bottom line, we want you to get your FROGS. COST ($150.00 for 2 people) ($85.00 single person) ($250.00 for up to 4 people) Cleaning and bagging is available after the trip for an additional $10.00 per limit
